Do I need to be there for the estimate? Most of the time no
For residential, we usually only need to have access to be able to walk around the home. If you have dogs, we usually ask they’re either inside or secured in the backyard so that there is no risk of them getting out. Also, that if there is a lock on the gate it is opened for entry.
For commercial, the same applies we can usually take a look as long as we have access around the building.
On certain occasions it does work best to have an onsite coordinator explain which areas you want and don’t want an estimate for.
For residential, do I have to be home? Depends on what you’re having done
For just the exterior, usually no. But if the screens need to be removed from the outside, they either need to be removed before hand or someone would need to allow us access to go in.
For in and out, we prefer if someone is home.
